This incredible bottle and box was designed by the artist Guangyu Zhang for the Chinese New Year 2019, The Year of the Pig.

Hennessy X.O celebrates Lunar New Year and the blending of two cultures.

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, Hennessy X.O hosted an “East Meets West” event in New York City, a city built off the merging of cultures. This gathering was the celebration of two traditions and heritages—that of the east and that of the west. This blending of cultures goes back nearly 150 years to when Hennessy X.O was first exported to China. Since that time, the cognac has played an important role in the country’s culture, and today remains a staple of celebrations and gatherings in the region.

In what was a truly unforgettable night, attendees were treated to gourmet cuisine, spirited conversation and Hennessy X.O—all while fan girls and dragon dancers set the ambiance. Throughout the evening, artwork by Shanghai-born, London-based artist Shan Jiang was on exhibition. Using a vast array of symbolism, he created an original piece that stands between the two worlds he inhabits. In all, the “East Meets West” event was emblematic of the warmth and passion that captures the spirit of both Hennessy X.O and the Chinese New Year.
