Description
Vintage circa 1920th MARBLE'S 4-inch blade IDEAL model Hunter with original 1920th tubular leather sheath with aluminum tip protector insert. The knife is used with a stag pommel that looks like a later replacement. Still, it is in better than average condition for the type. Hand-finished in Gladstone, Michigan USA. Marble's Knives was one of the best US makers of hunting knives, axes and other outdoors gear since 1898; this knife is from the Marble's early 20th century "golden era" - a great find!
The knife is about 8-1/4" / 21 cm overall; the blade is about 4" / 10.2 cm. The blade has been cleaned and sharpened; it is razor-sharp still. Stacked leather washers with colored fiber/brass spacers, bronze half-hilt and a “small nut” stag pommel. The pommel/brass nut are likely recent replacements but they match the handle perfectly. The handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play. Original tubular leather sheath with interior tip protector is in great shape, considering the age. Black leather fittings are likely later addition as well. The leather is soft and supple still; belt hanger is intact. Don't miss your chance to add this rare early Ideal hunter to your collection!
The knife has not been cleaned or tampered with in any way; it in 100% original "as is" condition. These are the actual photos. Buyers must be over 18 years of age. We combine shipping for multiple purchases. No shipping to the UK or Ireland for this item, sorry lads.
