Birds are willing visitors to a garden where they can find food and apart from
the obvious benefits to the birds themselves, they can bring a real and simple
pleasure to their hosts merely by their presence.
There can be few more re-assuring and attractive natural sounds than that of
wild birds singing and calling sweetly on a warm summers day. So natural in fact
that we might think that we are surrounded by an abundant and never ending
supply of birds, from the early morning dawn chorus to the last chirrup as dusk
turns to night.
This figurine was the Society model for 1993, designed by Ray Ayres it depicts a
rock garden scene after a summer shower. The rain drops have collected in a small
pool making an ideal bath for the garden birds. The Robin is first to take advantage
of the cool water, while the Chaffinch and Blue Tit patiently wait their turn.
These Society models are really excellent in every respect, Ray Ayres really went out of his way,
a few displayed together is stunning, many complement each other, pair this with The Joys
of Spring. I always have Soc. models listed on Ebay, please view them and thanks for looking.
