Leiter der plastischen Formgestaltung in Meissen von 1742 bis 1775.
Er ist der bekannteste und berühmteste Meissener Modelleur und war für die
Gestaltung berühmter Serien wie Schäferfiguren, Komödiantenkinder,
Gärtnerkinder (zusammen mit Acier), Pariser Ausrufer (mit
Reinicke und Meyer), Galante Figurengruppen, etc. verantwortlich.
Kändler entwarf dieses Modell um 1756.
MEISSEN GRUPPE - ALLEGORIE 'DIE POESIE'
Zwei leicht bekleidete Amoretten gruppiert auf Felsen sitzend: der eine
mit Partitur auf seinem Schoß, in der linken Hand
eine Papierrolle in die Höhe haltend und den Takt
gebend, neben sich am Boden ein Tamburin mit
Schellen, der zweite auf einer Posaune spielend,
während er ein zweites Instrument in seiner rechten
Hand hält, zwischen den beiden befindet sich eine Lyra, das
Attribut der Dichter und Sänger.
Die Gruppe basiert auf flachem Wiesensockel
mit gold gehöhtem Rocaillen Dekor.

Kaendler designed this model circa 1756.
MEISSEN GROUP - ALLEGORY 'POETRY'
Two scantily clad cupids sitting grouped on rocks: one with the score on his lap,
holding a roll of paper in his left hand and setting the beat, a tambourine with
bells on the floor next to him, the second playing a trombone while holding a
second instrument in his right hand, between the two
is a lyre, the attribute
of poets and singers.
The group is based on a flat meadow base with gold-enhanced rocaille decoration.
