Description

Light Pale Peach-Pink Colored Halite (Hopper Crystal Habit) - Location: West Side of Great Salt Lake Utah. Cabinet (see photo for more details). Here we have a specimen of light peachy-pinkish colored halite crystals that come from a small isolated pool of water from the west side of the Great Salt Lake. Utah's Great Salt Lake (and surrounding areas) is world famous for halite crystals showing the skeletal 'hopper' habit of crystal growth. The pink and peach colors of the halite comes from halophilic or 'salt loving' bacteria. The occurrence itself is very similar to the famous Searle Lake pink halite crystal deposit in California. We believe that these Utah crystals are sharper and overall are a better quality than those from the California locality! The crystals are well-formed and sharp and show the typical 'hopper' (skeletal) habit for halite formed from an evaporate type of deposit. The color is a light peach-pink color and the crystals are lustrous. The crystals vary from transparent to translucent. For those interested in the metaphysical halite is a time-worn substance in the sense that it is of the earth and is a good toner of earth beings. But the substance is also a good emissary of earth consciousness to those who are new to the earth or are returning to the earth after a long sojourn elsewhere. The substance is like the burnt embers of a fire picked up by the wind+ then deposited in a trickling stream. It draws the earth elements together. It is union. It is speechless+ yet its intent is understood. So no language is required+ no teaching must be given. It will calm agitation heart palpitations and anxiety. It provides a link to the earth vibrations which may be missing for some. It is not a grounder like obsidian. Instead+ it is a more diffuse bridging across elements rather than drawing down to one in particular. In clear or pink normally+ interaction with heat or other minerals colors it black brown yellow blue or purple. Halite Acts on the 2nd and 3rd chakras.
