Hello, up for your consideration is an antique late 19th c. German silver sewing cased set by Behrnd Hermann. All tools displayed in original case, pink silk and plush lined. Comprising of a needle case, a thimble, a knife and a needle. Needle, thimble and case are entirely made of silver;  knife with gild metal blade. 

Scissors are missing.


Needle and case are hallmarked with the ‘Crown and Crescent’ and ‘800’ for the German standard and with the silversmith initials ‘HB’ for ‘Behrnd Hermann’. Thimble is marked 800. I cannot find markings on the knife.


Condition: tools are very good preserved, some wear of gild on the metal. Box has traces of age and time, the silk has some tears, the plush is loss.

Measures: 5 3/4” x 4” box ; knife is 4 1/2” ; case is 2 3/4”; needle is 3 1/8” and thimble is 7/8” x 5/8” d.
