What an elegant way to serve
Sardines when hosting a meal. The sardines can be neatly lined up in the
pressed glass dish and nicely presented for serving. The piece is marked EPNS
and is from the English Edwardian Period circa: 1910. The silver plated holder measures
6.50 inches high by 6 inches long and 5.50 inches wide at the base. The pressed glass
sardine dish measures 5 1/8 inches long by 4.50 inches wide. The pressed glass
button and diamond designed dish with an etched Ivy is topped with a stylized Dolphin
Fish. The silver plated holder rests on four cannon ball feet and has sweeping
arched handles attached to the base with an ornately designed shield. The same shields hold the sardine dish safely in place. Attached to the handles are two
prongs that hold the Sardine Fork that is included in this sale. The Fork is
marked Prestige Plate and has a pretty floral design at the top. Other than an
old professional repair at the bottom of one of the handles, all the pieces are
in EXCELLENT READY TO USE ESTATE CONDITION with no cracks, flakes, flea bites, dents, or plate loss. An
elegant addition for afternoon tea or passed around the dining table when
entertaining family and friends.
