In 1997 Sheaffer Pen launched three new finishes in the Legacy 1 Series, which introduced beautiful colors into the range. These colors were Blue Laque, Green Laque and Burgundy Laque. All of these finishes were enhanced by a striking Brushed Gold Electroplate Cap. This color concept was the precursor to the same colors only accentuated by a Palladium GT Cap Series a couple of years later. All of these finishes were very short in duration and quickly Retired. Thus, they are some of the harder units to find, or more expensive to add to your collections.

The Sheaffer Legacy Burgundy Laque / Brushed Gold Cap #839-1 (Roller) and #839-2 (Ballpoint) that comprise this set are in absolute MINT condition. They have never been used and were stored in the Sheaffer Gift Box for all 27 years since they were produced in Fort Madison, Iowa. They will most likely need new refills because of their age but those are readily available from any authorized Sheaffer Dealer. We have been their only owner to this point.
