Born in 1986, Mr. Oreke is a self-taught French artist who describes his work as "Street Pop Art". In the early 2000s, he encountered the pictorial arts through the practice of graffiti. Armed with his spray paint, he begins by covering the walls with his drawings in shimmering colors before continuing his gesture on the support of the canvas. His style inherits the pop art movement and the aesthetics of comics. Abstraction predominated over the style of his early years. Mr. Oreke's singularity can be seen in his backgrounds, which he exploits mainly with aerosol, in the manner of graffiti. The artist combines ink with acrylic, and sometimes heterogeneous elements such as banknotes. The narration, tinged with humour, is endowed with fantasy and liberating energy. Formal freedom is added through a mix of collages, drips, typographic elements... and echoes the comic strip.
