Researching these shoes I was unable locate any shoes like these for comparisons. Reaching out to shoe companies and rugby groups  provided little insight. The best answer I received was from a rugby museum. Was told they seem to resemble a limited run training shoe made in the 70s to be used in workouts and non game functions. They were manufactured in italy and probably brought to the states by a tourist or immigrant.
