Saludos, he aquí una (1) excelente pieza histórica en BRONCE autorizada por el gobierno municipal de San Sebastián del Pepino, al oeste de Puerto Rico, en homenaje a la aportación a nivel nacional de uno de sus hijos pródigos, el excelente pelotero profesional José "Tití" Beníquez. La misma presenta una inconfundible imagen del legendario jugador. El reverso presenta el escudo de la Administración Municipal y su alcalde en ése entonces. El borde es liso. Se produjeron unas 200 piezas, todas repartidas en ésa ocación, y de las cuales pude obtener el remanente que había en la alcaldía a través de un empleado jubilado. Fué mandada hacer a la compañía Medallic Art, la misma que ha fabricado casi todas las piezas mandadas hacer por el gobierno de Puerto Rico en su historia. La pieza está en condición nueva y en su empaque original. Esta es una pieza difícil de hallar, y si aparece, es normal verla en venta a $50 o más. Esta medalla muestra una indiscutible calidad suprema de arte en alto relieve de la mas alta categoría de perfección artística, la que bien le valdrá la pena invertir cada chavito en esta bella pieza.

Howdy, here we are offering you one (1) one wonderful piece, comissioned by the Municipality of San Sebastian in Western Puerto Rico to celebrate the accomplishments of its great son and Puerto Rican Baseball player, José "Tití" Beníquez, to whom his town dedicated its main Baseball Stadium, a beautiful building, inaugurated in the 1990's. For this purpose the town mayor back then ordered about 200 medals minted, mostly given to important visitors, others to employees, and the few remaining pieces found their way to me. In any case, it is already impossible to find, and if available, you would expect to pay no less than $50 for it in Puerto Rico. These were made by Medallic Art, one of America's oldest home grown private mints still standing. It is difficult to estimate how many are still around, but you can tell it to be quite scarce, because you have not seen another like this before. I believe it is already a historic piece worth investing into. The condition is uncirculated in superb condition, with original look. Masterful skilled high relief medallic artistry showing off glamorously, way better in person than in photo, worthy of every penny invested. It comes in its original Medallic Art box.
JUAN JOSE "TITI" BENIQUEZ:
Juan José Beníquez Torres (born May 13, 1950) is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays in all or parts of 17 seasons spanning 1971–1988. Listed at 5' 11" (1.82 m), 150 lb. (68 k), Beníquez batted and threw right-handed. He was born in the city of San Sebastián, Puerto Rico.
A valuable role player for a long time, Beníquez spent 17 years in the major leagues playing for eight different American League clubs. He started his career with the Red Sox in 1971, appearing at short-stop as a backup for Luis Aparicio in part of two seasons, and later was switched to center field.
A Gold Glove Award winner with Texas in 1977, Beníquez posted four consecutive .300 seasons with California and Baltimore from 1983 through 1986, with a career-high .336 in 1984, and also hit three home runs in a game for the Orioles in 1986. Besides, he had three post-season appearances, including the 1975 World Series with the Red Sox.
A .274 career hitter, Beníquez batted 79 home runs with 610 runs and 476 RBI in 1500 games played. After his majors career was over, he held the record for having played for eight American League teams.
Afterwards, Beníquez hit .359 while playing for the St. Lucie Legends of the Senior Professional Baseball Association in 1989.
