About My Store

My store provides Japanese Seto-yaki items, including figurines, crockery and this ceramic brooch.
'Seto-yaki' is a general term for porcelain products made in Seto Japan. 'Seto' is a city located in the center of Japan, and is also the center for Japan's ceramics industry. Yaki is short for 'Yakimono', which refers to all kinds of ceramic and porcelain items.
From Occupied Japan Era to the late '70s, Seto-yaki items under various brand names used to be exported worldwide. However, as the ceramics industry has been declining year by year, many manufacturers have been forced to shut down their factories in the last few decades. But now, there are still lots of new and vintage items, as well as reproductions available out there. Please visit my ebay store at anytime for a variety of Seto-yaki products.
