Lotus Europa Twin Cam 1972 LHD Factory Built Component Car & allocated to Lotus Engineering.***SOLD***SOLD***SOLD***
Unfortunately no paperwork remains on why the car was allocated to Lotus Engineering and what was special about the car.
I have a letter from Lotus confirming the above. The car was originally Lagoon Blue Metallic, Lotus Paint Code: L12.
The car was signed off from production on the 25th March 1972 and then allocated to Lotus Engineering on the 4th April 1972. The car has subsequently been used for either circuit racing, hill climb etc, hence less engine and gearbox. The car has Oatmeal trim, 15" 5 spoke Revolutions, Sun roof, Alloy Girling front callipers, Spyder Engineering Space Frame Chassis and has been converted by them with Spyder uprights and rear disc conversion/drive shaft conversion. So this would give the new owner an opportunity to fit their own engine, i.e. Zetec, Vauxhall, Lotus TC etc or battery conversion. Excellent body, interior, chassis, chrome work etc.
With this vehicle one could build the ultimate racing Europa or very quick road car.
The paperwork from Lotus I have will assist with the UK V5 Registration. Happy to help with this process.
