RANFT CUP WITH PUTTI ON ROPE
Colorless glass cup with a protruding wall, with opaque painting 'en terrasse': all-round depiction above a gilded base, here opposite each other two rose bushes with ears of corn, ropes stretched between them on which two putti balance with bows and arrows in their hands, at the lower edge, under the gilding , beaten ranft, colorless stand with 16-pointed, silver-yellow stained base star, ground, gilded lip edge on the inside.
MANUFACTURE:
ANTON KOTHGASSER (1769 - 1851)
He received his training at the Academy of Fine Arts and from 1784 worked as a design and gold painter at the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory. Together with Gottlob Samuel Mohn, Kothgasser created the colorful glass windows without lead. After Mohn's death, the technique of transferring delicate porcelain painting to colorless crystal glass experienced a revival thanks to Kothgasser. He decorated the glasses with meticulously crafted landscapes, portraits, floral and animal pieces, allegories and buildings; His specialty was panoramic glasses with city views of Vienna.

Colorless glass beaker with sweeping wall, with opaque painting 'en terrasse': surrounding depiction above a gilded base, here two rose bushes with ears of corn opposite each other, between them stretched ropes on which two putti are balancing with bow and arrow in them hands, on the lower edge, under the gilding, beaten ranft, colorless stand with 16-pointed, silver-yellow stained base star, on the inside polished, gilded lip rim.
