Full leather binding, by Colnaghi, with gilt titles, raised bands, and gilt decoration to the compartments, gilt page edges, marbled paste downs and end papers. Full morocco boards with gilt decoration.

A work in three parts, with separate pagination, illustrated with 33 separate engraved plates.

[7], 8-31pp, 9 engraved plates.

vi, [ii], 45pp, 8 engraved plates.

ix, [iii], 64pp, 16 engraved plates, 8 in black and white and 8 in colour.

Provenance: inscription to Amy Hogg to the front free end paper.

Approximately 13 inches tall.

• Spine – good condition – gilt titles, five raised bands, gilt decoration to the compartments, worn.
• Joints – good condition – rubbed.
• Corners – good condition – bumped and worn.
• Boards – good condition – full leather boards, gilt tooled decoration, the outer edges of the boards are gilt decorated.
• Page edges – good condition – all gilt.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – sound.
• Paste downs – good condition – yellow.
• End papers – good condition – yellow, subsequent end papers, tanned and foxed, front free end paper effectively detached.
• Title – good condition – tanned with some foxing.
• Pages – good condition – tanned and foxed illustrated.
• Binding – good condition.
