Full polished calf leather binding by Bickers Bookbinders, with gilt decorated spines, gilt titles to twin leather red and green labels, inner blind stamped dentelles, top page edges darkened, others marbled.

Provenance: dedication to Frederick George Milner (later Sir FredericK) from Christopher Smyth, 'on his leaving Eton', with the Milner bookplate to the front pastedown.

Approximately 8 inches tall.

• Spine – good condition – gilt titles to twin labels, volume number to circular red leather labels, five gilt raised bands, gilt decorated compartments, rubbed and worn.
• Joints – good condition – gently rubbed.
• Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn.
• Boards – fair to good condition – polished calf, marked and scratched.
• Page edges – good condition – top edge darkened, others marbled.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – sound.
• Paste downs – good condition – marbled with blind stamped dentelles.
• End papers –  good condition – marbled.
• Title – condition – tanned.
• Pages –  good condition – tanned with some foxing and minor marks.
