Incredibly rare and early American tin toy from the late 1800's. More than likely made by Fallows (info on the company below). Condition and dimensions shown in photos. Does have condition issues as shown in photos. Retains some of the original paint. Front of the wagon has broken off and is attached with a piece of wire. Still, it displays well and is guaranteed to be old/original.

Fallows Tin Toys

James Fallows & Sons were located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA). The company in 1870 was called the C.B. Porter Company, but in 1894 the name was changed to Frederick and Henry Fallows Toys. James Fallows had 3 sons by the names of Henry, Charles, and David. The toys were made from tin, with what looks like cast iron wheels. The toys were hand-painted and sometimes painted stenciling was used for ornate designs. Some of his toys have the identification mark "IXL" which is said to be a "play-of-words" for "I Excel".

I do my best to write accurate descriptions and mention any damage or other issues, but please use the photos to judge the overall condition for yourself. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!
