Hello dear customers, for sale is a stunning antique from circa 1920-30 French Art Deco sterling silver sewing scissors. Gorgeous scissor with fine silver handles and carbon steel blades. Featuring figurative repousse silver shanks with Egyptian Revival motifs. Egyptian vultures birds and lotus flowers motif on finger rings. Marked for silver on inside on shanks with French Minerva 950 purity hallmarking that responding for the era and master mark HL with rat in lozenge for Henri Lapparra Paris after 1923 mark. The demand for Egyptian designs boomed during the 1920s after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. This event spread Egyptian imagery throughout the western world. The scissors are one excellent example for this movement in Art Deco design in Europe. Founded in 1893, the House of Lapparra provides high quality sterling silver flatware and tableware products to the world's elite. The scissors are excellent preserved without damages minor patina on blades only. Originate from private collection in Paris.
