Modifying power and data cables offers an interesting opportunity to further enhance the appearance of the PC and adapt it to personal requirements. With so-called sleeving, the cables can either be covered with a cable braid for better protection or the existing sleeve can be replaced. Thanks to a variety of color variations and UV-active coatings, the cables can also become eye-catchers.

MDPC-X sleeves are specifically manufactured to transform a simple cable into a design object and thus create a distinctive aesthetic. MDPC-X is known to add optimal intrinsic strength to the cable, which removes all small waves from the cable. The tight attachment enables absolutely uniform and fluid curve radii, or straight lines - without the help of auxiliary objects that would force the natural flow and disrupt the appearance.
MDPC-X Sleeve Small ensures perfect sleeving without compromise
This is a 1 meter sleeve made of high-quality PET-X fibers. Compared to other sleeve materials, such as nylon-based "fabric" materials, the PET-X material is water-repellent and dirt-repellent. In addition, PET-X does not ignite as suddenly and quickly as nylon materials do. Therefore it can be used even under the most extreme conditions from -58C to +155C.

The diameter of the MDPC-X Small cable sheathing is very variable; it can be stretched or contracted, thereby allowing a variety of possible applications. The small sleeves can be stretched from approx. 1.7 mm to approx. 7.8 mm.

HOW DOES SLEEVING WORK AND WHAT DO I NEED?
The procedure goes as follows: First, the connections are separated from the cables, which requires special tools depending on the connection. If present, the sleeve jacket is then removed and the cable shortened if necessary. Now the new sleeve with an adjusted length can be pulled over the cable. Short pieces of shrink tubing are then pulled over the beginning and end of the cable and the connection is reconnected. When heated, the shrink tubing contracts, sealing the transition and at the same time preventing the sleeve braid from fraying.

To determine how much "sleeve material" is needed for your personal project, the general formula is usually: amount of cables * length of cables + 20%. It is particularly important to know that the sleeve length refers to the stretched state with minimal stretch. With larger diameters and thus increasing stretch of the sleeve, the overall length is shortened. So when sleeves are used in the highest extensibility diameter, almost 200% sleeve length is required to cover the object length.

Note: This product is sold by the meter and is only cut to size in our shipping center after the order has been placed. Depending on the logistical requirements, delivery can take place randomly in a single piece or in a maximum of two parts. The length of the two sections is variable, with the cutting always being done to the full meter. However, the total length always corresponds to the length ordered.
