Discovered in an album in a UK antique shop, this is one of EIGHT New Zealand postcards being listed at the same time. Bid/buy more than one and save on shipping costs. Published by Fergusson Limited as "R.S. No. 1" in the Gold Medal Series, the card shows a view of Rimutaka Incline (showing beginning of centre rail) and important engineering marvel which used the Fell System of traction, with a central rail. The level of detail is not great, but it is possible to make out the structure of the rail in the foreground. The card is in good condition, with only the most minimal signs of wear. DO VIEW MY OTHER LISTINGS to find other New Zealand cards.  New Zealand shipping rates don’t show automatically on UK ebay auctions, but the charge for shipping (including £20 of insurance) will be just £3.50 GBP.

Shipping:  Please take a look at the shipping options offered, which are based on my estimate of the selling price.  If an item sells for less than expected I may be able to reduce the shipping cost. Equally, if an item sells for considerably more than expected then you might wish to boost the insurance or the depth of packaging, which will increase the shipping cost.  I am always happy to combine items to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a quote. In all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250.  If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
