ON OFFER HERE IS AN ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY HAND SEWING MACHINE, MADE IN ENGLAND BY SELLERS ALLEN MANUFATURERS OF THE PATENTED SEWING MACHINE NO 865. MADE IN LONDON AND KEIGHLEY YORKSHIRE IN THE 1800'S. THIS MACHINE IS UNUSUAL AS IT IS SO AESTHETICALLY PLEASING AND THE ARM IS IN THE FORM OF AND ARM AND A HAND. IT HAS A MARBLE PLINTH AND THE WHEEL IS PIERCED WITH THE NAME W SELLERS & CO INCORPORATED WITHIN THE DESIGN. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND OPUT ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER BUT NOT THE ACTUAL MACHINE AND I DO NO BELIEVE MANY WERE MADE AS I HAVE ONLY FOUND ONE ON A COLLECTORS SITE AND THE COLLECTOR THOUGHT THAT IT WAS PERHAPS A ONE OFF. IT IS A HANDSOME EXAMPLE AND WOULD MAKE A FINE ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION.

IT MEASURES 7.6 INCHES X 5.6 INCHES WIDE (18.5 CM'S X 13.5 CM'S) AT THE BASE PLINTH. THE OVERALL WIDTH IS APPROX 14.7 37.2 CM'S) INCHES WIDE AND THE HEIGHT IS 12 INCHES. HIGH (30.3 CM'S)

IT IS IN GOOD ANTIQUE PRE OWNED CONDITION. I HAVE NOT TESTED WETHER IT IS WORKING AS I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE.

PLEASE NOTE THIS WEIGHS 12 KILO'S WHEN PACKED, HENCE THE EXPENSIVE SHIPPING.

Please note having had several requests in relation to the underside and wether it has a shuttle, I have added 4 more images I have pointed out were something would be placed ahead of the spring to put a cog into action to turn the spindle, at the other end appears to a circle of metal that should probably be bolted onto an existing screw bolt that would probably get the underside in motion I have no idea if or were a shuttle should go more than this I am not sure if I can help further but feel free to keep on asking questions.
