This Heartland Cyclone 40 foot 5th wheel trailer is in excellent shape, with many new items installed. The most important and time-consuming work was replacing the entire living area floor with ¾ inch marine plywood after removing that worthless “oriented strand board” (OSB), which is an important-sounding name for random wood chips glued together. OSB is cheap and weak, and it has a tendency to absorb water then get spongy, or soft. Marine plywood is extremely water resistant and may outlast the trailer.

The overall condition is excellent, there is no damage history since I bought it in 2016

Good stuff done

  • ·        Replaced entire living area floor with ¾ inch marine plywood
  • ·        New protective "wiper" seals on all 3 slide-outs
  • ·        New water heater
  • ·        New water pump
  • ·        New queen mattress in bedroom, still in protective cover
  • ·        New 43” TV (~4 years)
  • ·        New microwave (~4 years)
  • ·        All 6 tires were replaced in 2016 and now have ~4000 miles on them.
  • ·        New deep cycle batteries
  • ·        New LED flood lights
  • ·        New fwd jacks
  • ·        Master bedroom queen bed frame REBUILT with rollers, it’s not going anywhere

Full disclosure, I value my integrity so this reflects everything I know of. There are some cosmetic or functional items that have not been corrected yet. I’m not afraid of a thorough inspection;

  • ·        The fwd AC cover and pin box cover are cracked and lost some material.
  • ·        The couch dining area slide-out hesitates & stops, then restarts after a few seconds. It’s never failed.
  • ·        Just found a soft spot in the roof, left rear at the ladder, about 8-10 inches in diameter
  • ·        Two outside running lights have failed, they're low forward & hidden by the truck tailgate
  • ·        Not all interior lights have been replaced with LED, I’d say 80% plus are LED
  • ·        One mirrored closet slider door is cracked. We took both out & have them set aside for the buyer. They were replaced with curtains for ease of use.
