The original WPA poster was created between 1936 and 1939 by the United States Travel Bureau with artwork by Alexander Dux (1898-1971). A reminder that during a great depression, the US Government got organized and assembled a legion of out-of-work artists to create beautiful public art in the progressive experiment in economic uplift that was the Federal Art Project.
