This is a beautiful Turkish saddlebag, for a horse or donkey, handmade made from three brightly colored woven flatweave kilim panels. This particular saddle bag dates to sometime around the mid 1960s to the late 1970s, based on the coloring, style, and weaving techniques. The saddle bag is approximately 52 inches in length, and 16 inches in width. It is made of yarns dyed in a variety of colors, ranging from a sky blue to a deep orange-red. The backside is striped with alternating colored chevrons, and the front features all the classic motifs of an Anatolian Turkish design, with geometric patterns in the shapes of diamonds, chevrons, and scorpions. This piece could be adapted for use as a rug, as a wall piece, or as a throw, depending on how creative you get. A fantastic piece!

Great vintage condition. Some sun-fading to the front-side of the saddlebags, and some irregularity to the weave and stitching as you can expect with handmade woven goods. See photos for more details.

Sold as-is. Feel free tor each out with any questions or to request more photos. Thanks.
