This listing is for a pair of hand built wheels. These are Velocity Quill rims (with 21mm internal width), laced on DT Aerolite spokes, and Extralite hubs.

These will be some of the lightest alloy wheels you can get, with a modern wide rim width. They weigh 1390g on my scales, including rim tape. A 25mm tyre blows up to more like 29mm, making for a more comfortable ride and better grip cornering, with no compromise to rolling resistance. A 28mm tyre blows up to 30mm. (Can be more or less depending on the model of tyre.)

The rims are clincher with a machined brake surface. They are tubeless compatible (and I think the rim tape is for tubeless use) but I have only used them with tubes and don't have any tubeless valves. The rear freehub is for Shimano.

They have done less than 800 miles. I haven't touched them for over a year as mostly riding disc brakes now. The condition is really good. The brake surface is not showing any wear. There is a mark on one rim (see photo) where a brake caliper was mis-set and rubbed it a little, but not very noticeable. There are light bite marks on the freehub. The wheels and freehub bearings all spin freely. The rear hub could probably do with the bearing pre-tension adjusting a touch.

Please note that the rear rim is not smooth at the rim joint (which is a sleeved joint) - this needs to wear in smooth after enough braking but hasn't yet. Consequently you can get some 'pulsing' on the rear brake.

Let me know if any questions. They will be packaged in a wheel box, and posted the day after payment clears, or collection is welcome from Cobham KT11.
