Antique Large Architectural Clock Striking On Two Gongs

6" square dial with applied silver round chapter, Roman hours, matted gold centre and applied leaves, flowers and human figures spandrels in the four corners; cathedral style hands.

The two train movement with pendulum adjust, chiming the half and full hours on two coiled gongs; back plate stamped RSM around a rose.

Currently the clock will start for few seconds then stops. Will be sold as a project, for repair; assuming this will be an easy fix.

The architectural case with raised pediment and ball finial surmounts, full length pilasters flanking a bevelled thick glass door, raised on a stepped and shaped plinth, whole with applied ormolu mounts.

Unusually the clock has further two bevelled thick glasses on each side allowing the movement to be seen through

Most probably made in Germany in the late 19th century by Winterhalder & Hofmeier or M Schnekenburger

- 28.5cm ( 11 inches ) wide
