FINEST PAINTING TYPE   "APPONYI ROUGE" | FORM TYPE OSIER

Stunning elegance due to delicate flower paintings as well as due to golden painted edged areas.      FORM TYPE OSIER

THE HEREND MANUFACTORY DESCRIBES THE DECORATION TYPE "APPONYI" AS FOLLOWING:
The center of the plate shows a motif in Chinese style: the Fleurs des Indes (Flowers of the Indies) motif of a peony surrounded by leaves. Round the edge of the well runs a garland of stylized leaves, broken periodically by gilded and incised rosettes. On the ledge there is a contoured pattern of a flower surrounded by six leaves, decorated with sparkling flecks of gold.
The origin of the pattern is associated with Count Albert Apponyi, for whom this simplified version of Fleurs des Indes was first prepared. The Apponyi décor comes here in purple red color variant.

This popular decor was designed based on the Far Eastern motif "Indian flower basket".
The main motif is a stylized peony in contour painting, which is surrounded by 6 scattered motifs and a garland of stylized leaves.
The name of the pattern is linked to the name of Count Albert Apponyi, who ordered this motif from the Herend factory. Here is a purple color variant of the Apponyi decor.
