For your consideration is an usual pair of Asian inspired candle lanterns. They are 13 1/4" tall not including the top hook. Circular wood base with twisted wire  cage surrounding a muslin type cloth interior that has the same hand painted Asian character on paper applied on all four sides. The wire cage slides up and down on four vertical wire uprights. I assume these were made for candles as there is a small vertical wire to pierce into candle base? The design is obviously flawed and flammable. Probably not a lot of these around. Wire uprights on one lantern with a couple soft bends that will be an easy fix. It's amazing they are in this very good condition. I was told they came from the Chebeague Island Hotel in Casco Bay, Maine about 80 years ago.
