This wonderful piece features an Ormolu base, Oriental-styled porcelain hand-painted monkeys and delicate floral designs with bronze leaves & flowers.

(Ormolu derives from the French word "or moulu" meaning ground/ molten gold. It is a popular 18th century decorative technique that sees European styled gold colored/ gold plated bronze mounted on Oriental styled porcelain. So popular amongst the riches & royals at the time, the east meet west decorative style immediately evokes imagery of French Palace, and are thusly named after the French King nowadays.)


This piece is signed/embossed on the base UW 1897 and also comes with the import label from The People's Republic of China.
