"The Competition Has Arrived" is a limited edition fine art print from the original watercolor painting by artist Michael Irvine. It is from an edition of only 800 prints, and is hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print is truly beautiful and is filled with the detail, vibrant color and reflections that artist's work is known for (see Carroll Shelby talking to Dan Gurney in the fender reflection in photo 4). The image measures 26" x 16 1/8" and is printed on high-quality acid-free stock measuring 30" x 21". As a full line dealer for the artist, prints have been stored flat, away from any light source, and have never been framed. The print comes with a signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity from the artist.

The 1960's were an exciting time in the world of international racing. While Ferrari and Porsche dominated the European tracks, a chicken farmer and race car driver from Texas built a car that would change everything.

Capturing a sense of calm before the storm, Michael gives a nod to the Shelby GT350 R-Competition, the '66 Ford GT40 MKII, the '64 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, the 1963 Cobra with a 289, and the '65 Shelby Cobra Competition 427 that turned the European racing world upside down. On this early morning, the peaceful calm of the French countryside is broken when the unmistakable sound of a big bore, throaty American V-8 lets everyone know the 'competition' has arrived.
