The Land Rover is a compact British made off road vehicle produced by the Rover Company
since 1948 and afterwards by British Leyland. Inspired by the Jeep from the Second World War it
immediately distinguished itself from all other cars. Contrary to a conventional car  chassis it
used a sturdier box welded frame, due to post war steel shortage and aluminium surplus
they received a non rusting aluminium body.
The Series II saw a production run from 1958 to 1961 with a five inch greater width to cover
the wider vehicle tracks and was the first to use the well known 2.25 litre petrol engine,
which became the standard unit until the 1980s when diesel engines became more popular.
"The long winter months bring many hardships and much extra work on the farm and the last
thing you need is an extra job added to your list. But "Clearing the Way" after storm damage has
to be dealt with right away in order to be able to still get to the stock. The Land Rover Series II
Long Wheel Base from the early 1960s is the perfect work-horse for this type of work"
This deservedly popular model is in good condition, no damage or repairs and is very clean and tidy.
Only 750 were produced, considering the popularity of Land Rovers, so they are usually eagerly
sought after, this one has its original box and certificate, so don't miss it. I have a good collection listed
on Ebay, they cover diverse interests, hopefully something for everyone, please browse them and thanks.
