Carl Hagenauer gründete die Werkstätte 1898, es wurden vor allem die
traditionsreichen Wiener Bronzen hergestellt. Nach seinem Tod 1928 übernahmen
die Kinder Karl, Franz und Grete den Betrieb. Karl Hagenauer oblag die
Firmenleitung und er stellte die Produktion auf kleine, ausdrucksstarke
Messingfiguren um, die die Tradition in moderner Form fortsetzten. Im Stil des
Art Déco und der neuen Sachlichkeit entstanden hochwertige Kleinplastiken aus
Messingguss, die den wirtschaftlichen Erfolg der Werkstätte über Jahre hinweg
manifestierten.

Carl Hagenauer founded the workshop in 1898, mainly producing the traditional
Viennese bronzes. After his death in 1928, the children Karl, Franz and Grete
took over the business. Karl Hagenauer was responsible for the management of the
company and he switched production to small, expressive brass figures that
continued the tradition in a modern form. In the style of Art Deco and the new
objectivity, high-quality small sculptures made of cast brass were created,
which manifested the economic success of the workshop over the years.
