Description of Contents:

This is the 1959 Hot Rod Annual. Solid condition with spine wear. 128 pages packed with vintage info. This has articles on the Ala Kart, a 1929 Ford pickup, built for Richard Peters of Fresno, California by George Barris, which was the ultimate in custom car winners: the title "World's Most Beautiful Roadster" at the famous Oakland Roadster show. In custom show competition, this $15,000 jewel had never been beaten. The Kart boasted such innovations as air-bag suspension, fuel-injected Dodge engine, electrically-actuated emergency brake system, one-piece removable top, fully chromed undercarriage, custom formed hood and grille shell, and a 30-coat pearlescent lacquer finish. Also a couple of pictures of the one and only Oliver Hine 1933 Ford coupe with Brewster grille, and 60 more pages just on hot rods and dragsters with pictures alone. There are also articles on body mods, running gear, the 1958 engines, the Chevy 348, intakes, tires and lots more, the way they did it back in the day. Excellent examples of period customs. I will combine shipping at a discount. International shipping is available - cost varies.
