An original British Royal Navy medal pair awarded to a Radio Electrical Mechanic 2nd Class and later Chief Petty Officer Weapon Engineering Mechanic.

The pair includes the 1962 - 2007 General service Medal with the clasps for Borneo and Malay Peninsula and a Long Service Good Conduct Medal.

The General Service Medal is named as follows:

068768  M. SOTO.  R.E.M.2.  R.N.

The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is named:

WEMN1  M.  SOTO  D068768K  HMS AMBUSCADE

HMS Ambuscade F172 was a Type 21 frigate - Amazon Class - of the Royal Navy. She was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders Ltd in Glasgow, Scotland. 

She entered service in 1975 and took part in the Falklands War of 1982.

Two of the same class of ship were lost during the Falklands War - HMS Antelope Sunk 24th May 1982 and HMS Ardent 22nd May 1982.

Both medals were mounted by the recipient on a suspension bar with pinned reverse.
