Danish Yearbook of Philosophy : 2009, Paperback by Collin, Finn (EDT), ISBN 8763530988, ISBN-13 9788763530989, Brand New, Free P&P in the UK

The Danish Yearbook of Philosophy publishes articles relating to Danish philosophy or by authors with connections to the subject. Most of the articles in this 44th edition were contributions to a conference on "humanities between constructivism and biologism" held at the U. of Copenhagen in 2010. They raise questions about sustainability on a changing planet, phronesis and medical practice, how technologically advanced humans identify (or not) with their biological organism, and conclude with a debate between those contributors on the relationship between science and the humanities. Separate from these are two opening essays on irreducible experience in conceptual reflection, which goes through Adorno and Brandom mainly, and dissent in communicative ethics and political philosophy, which goes through Habermas. There is no index or general bibliography, but some of the essays have copious end-notes. Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR ()
