Lens is in great cosmetic condition. No scratches on the front or rear element. No haze or internal fungus. Autofocus is working but a bit squeaky. This lens will NOT work with VR on. Once you take a couple shots, pressing down the shutter button will not prompt the camera to take a shot. Once this occurs, you must take the camera battery out and reinstall it for the camera to start working again. With VR off, the lens performs fine and the camera will not freeze up. Occasionally however, the internals of the lens seems to shake vertically a couple of times which can be seen in both the viewfinder and in the live view display. This doesn't seem to cause any issues as long as VR is turned off. The lens will continue to operate after the shake. You can also hear a bit of play inside the lens. I am not sure if there is something loose. It doesn't sound like screws. Due to the VR issue, the lens is being sold AS-IS and for parts/repair. This item is not eligible for returns.
