Two in one published by Cyrus Stone, Boston. “Saw Up and Saw Down: Or, Fruits of Industry and Self Reliance” by Mrs. C. Helen Knight (1814-1906) and “What Small Hands May Do” by Mrs. S.S.A. Both these stories were also published by the American Female Guardian Society, in 1852 and 1853. For this publication, the stories were entered in the Clerk’s Office, Massachusetts in the year 1858. Thus a somewhat “later” printing. The two stories cover 64 pages and each have their own musical score. “Saw Up and Saw Down”: Words by E. Porter Dyer and Music by L. Marshall. “What Small Hands May Do”: Words by Porter Dyer and Music by B.F. Baker. This little book measures 5” by 6” tall and is bound in nicely embossed cover with gold embellished title on front.

Condition:  Very Good. Some scribbles on free blank endpapers with previous names and a faint date of 1873. Interior pages are toned with an occasional spot here and there. Binding slightly shaken all pages attached.
