This illustrated autograph album book measures 7 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches and is in fair condition. There is wear on the decorative black and gold cloth board covers and on the spine edges. Inside the front cover is the name of the original book owner (see photo 2). Overall, the interior is clean, but the illustration pages have foxing (see photos 3, 4 and 16). The pages have gilt edges all around. The pages are free from marks and are secure to the binding. This album belonged to a girl known to her friends as "Fannie". There are several beautifully handwritten letters of love and friendship to her. One friend chose to leave a locket of her hair (see photo 5). The entries appear to have been written in 1858 and all are addressed from Canterbury Connecticut.
