 LAV-AT is an all-terrain, all-weather, wheeled vehicle with night combat capabilities. It can be airlifted by C-130, C-141, C-5 and CH-53E. The vehicle's high mobility, armor protection capabilities, and precision-guided missiles can be used against heavily armored targets and fixed fortifications. Its high mobility allows it to accompany mobile troops in combat, provide concealed anti-armor firepower for vehicle-mounted infantry and reconnaissance troops, and the ability to fight heavily armored targets at long distances. The vehicle has both offensive and defensive uses. Its weapons station is an Emerson-type small turret. When loaded for combat, it has 2 "TO"-2 anti-tank missiles in ready state, and 14 rounds of ammunition. Its defensive weapon is a 7.62mm machine gun, with 200 rounds of ready-to-fire ammunition, and 800 rounds of ammunition in reserve. There are 8 smoke grenade launchers, and missile reloading can be completed under armor protection. The vehicle can be ready for amphibious operations in 3 minutes.
