FOR YOUR NEXT RESTORATION OR PROJECT!

Up for auction is a vintage set of 3+3 open-back guitar tuners with original grommets and mounting screws.  These look to be European to me, but they could be Japanese.  The screw heads are Phillips and early Japanese screws tended to be slot-heads, after American guitars.  By the look of these, I’d date them to the 1960s, but they could be late ‘50s or very early ‘70s.

I have no idea when or where I got these.  If they were on an intact vintage guitar I would not have replaced them.  Over the years I acquired a number of trashed necks from which I harvested parts and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where these came from.

Because of the odd shape, I don’t think these originally had covers, but I could be wrong.
