This listing is for the  2001 Proof 50 cent coin  which was struck as part of a set of 12 Canadian Festivals coins from 2001 - 2003.  Some festival images are featured on the reverse.  The obverse features the tiara effigy of the Queen by Dora de Pedery-Hunt.  This 50 cent coin is dated on the reverse. 

The 10th Annual Festival of the Fathers brings to life the seminal moment of our nation's founding in 1867.

Recreating the Victorian society of the era through re-enactments of the landing of the 'Fathers' at Peake's Wharf and a gala ball in period costume, the festival celebrates the events that established Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, as Canada's birthplace.


This 50 cent coin was minted in sterling silver and the finish is a proof finish on this coin.  It is 27.1 mm in diameter and weighs 9.3 grams.  You will receive the coin in its original capsule set into a coloured cardboard folder.
