There are many who will mourn the passing of good quality school knickers of classic style made from the 1950's right through until the early 1970's.

These knickers are Genuine Cherubs made at the Cherub factory in Leicester England. The dating of these vintage classics are difficult but likely made in the 1950's or 1960's given the washing code on the label.

They sport a strong but very stretchy tunnel elasticated waist and tunnelled elasticated legs which were favoured in the 1940's and 1950's with a double gusset. At the time these were styled they were designed to be worn “loose” unlike later styles which give a blousing effect. They are designed with an effective 2 to 3 inch leg so that the leg elastic rests on the top of the thigh although girls at the tie frequently pulled the legs up to where modern full brief reside which gave the blousing effect when worn.

AS THESE ARE VERY RARE PRODUCT AND IN A LARGER SIZE THEY ARE PRICED ACCORDINGLY

These knickers are a full cut old fashioned “knicker” in a delightful school uniform deep navy blue colour, and will give literally a lifetime of service if treated correctly. Both the waist and leg elastics are delightfully firm but very stretchy giving the necessary firm but comfortable grip at both waist and legs.

They have the 1950's style double thickness gusset designed to go down the legs to prevent the upper thighs rubbing together when worn for extra comfort and warmth.

This pair is the classic deep Navy Blue colour, Size 16 tag but they are extremely stretchy and will fit to a MINIMUM waist of 34 inches easily upto 36/38 inch waist or A UK women's sizes 16 to 20 (approx).

Depth (waistband to crotch) : 14 inches laid flat
