This was used in my mom's system for a few years. She's not a gamer, so it's basic functionality was for pictures and videos. The fan does make a light grinding noise when turned on. I tried fixing it by cleaning the housing and surroundings, but it didn't work. After running for awhile, it seemed to go away, but when I shut down and started again, it returned. So just figure it will be there. The fan might not be in balance or a bearing may be bad.
