Antoine Watteau Drawing Print

Antoine Watteau (1684–1781)
"Three studies of open hands, Red and black chalk, and graphite"

We are offering this superb vintage framed Antoine Watteau lithograph of hand sketches, like all old lithographs it looks as good as the original, which is in the collection of the British Museum. Rear label says: "42 Etudes de Mains."

The print comes in a wonderful old limewashed French style montmartre frame, with unusual gilt edged mount matt. I bought it at an antique store in Beverly Hills California, some years ago. They said it came from an old Hollywood estate mansion, but I don't remember which, or have anything in writing that I can find.

Great condition apart from some old moisture damage to the rear label, slight rippling to the bottom edge of the matt/mount under the glass. it was like that when bought, and does not really detract.

Dimensions: 34 x 42 cm total, 14 x 22 cm view
