presented today is this delicately beautiful Hopi polychrome jar, by Loretta Navasie, daughter of the famous Joy Navasie. Joy was born in 1919, and learned the art of ceramics by her mother Paqua Naha. She perfected the trademark work in white Hopi pottery, and launched a beautiful tradition that lasts to this day. This tiny masterpiece measures 3 inches in diameter and 2 and a half inches tall, it was created around 1965, and
the understated design is beautifully traditional. The
fine lines are done with laser-like accuracy, and the vessel form is in superb
