Description
This is an 18th Century Naval Cannon; non-firing. This detailed, and well constructed, 1/12 scale cannon features a 10" elevating barrel, wood trunk carriage and rotating wheels with rope breaching.

Naval cannons were set up on several gun decks on the typical "Man of War" and the "broadsides" resulting from all the guns on one side of a ship firing in unison, causing devastating damage. The carriages had an extensive rope system to stop a recoiling cannon and get it back in firing position. This miniature cannon represents the power of the British navy during that time.
