This a pair of striking vintage midcentury modern side tables or end tables with an unusual design. The square side tables are clad with beautifully grained walnut veneer on all sides and topped with a thick slab of white marble with light gray veining. Vertical strips of white marble are mounted on the double doors, which open to reveal a cavernous storage space. The marble topped tables are quite heavy, so newer non-original caster wheels were added make the tables easier to move around. There are also some mysterious 2-prong outlets on the sides of each table that lead to an extension cord underneath. I suspect this is for table lamps and other small electronics. The 1960s era side tables are in good vintage condition. There is some areas of loose or missing veneer, and some minor scratches and bumps throughout. The white marble slabs are intact and clean and free of cracks. However, there are some scratches and gouges on one of the marble tops. Please zoom in on the photos photos for more details. Each end table measures 30" x 30" square and 21.34" tall, including the caster wheels. If the caster wheels are removed, the table height is 21 inches. The square marble tops can be removed for transport, which is super hepful because they are heavy. Local pick up in Rockville, MD 20853. Domestic shipping available.
