I have decided to sell my unique one of a kind lot of genuine vintage US military watches from WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Each piece is in fantastic condition. Rarely have you seen a grouping of military pieces of this quality and condition assembled together. I have accumulated and restored them over a 25 year period with original parts. If you’re a collector then you’ll appreciate what is presented.

Here we have a beautiful, rare, Vietnam War era fully functional, serviced Ollech & Wajs Early Bird 17 jewels. Many GI’s purchased these from the PX Exchanges or by mail order for use in-country. I had this one fully serviced many years ago. A few things make this one special. First, it has the original full length beads of rice bracelet. I have never seen another Early Bird on the original bracelet! Second, this is the early generation of this model with the alternate spelling Ollech + “Ways” stamped on the FHF 72 movement. Rarer and definitely hard to find in this amazing condition. The Pepsi functioning bidirectional bezel is gorgeous with an ever so slight fade or “ghosting” with no paint missing. The glossy black lumed dial with all the markings perfectly legible and original lumed hand set takes on an awesome patina. The crystal was replaced with a vintage high dome crystal. The case is great condition with no signs of brassing or defects. The lug tops have a nice brushing. The case back has been polished at some point but still retains the light markings visible when angled in the light. The case back is marked SWISS MADE STAINLESS STEEL BACK WATERPROOF ANTIMAGNETIC SHOCKPROTECTED TESTED AT 20 ATM. Also on the bottom of the case back is 2834 337197. You’re not going to find too many in this condition, fully functional ready to wear with original bracelet. No need for any restoration. Definitely a special piece. I recommend a routine service and to avoid from water until/unless pressure tested.
