Offering a heavy weight Vintage quilt, all hand stitched, quilted, appliqued and embroidered. The pattern is groups of 4 butterflies cut from what looks like feed sack calicos and embroidered on a white cotton background. The pattern is pure JOY! Two of the butterflies have no print, just the outline is embroidered on the white. I was told this is an homage to departed family members. In between the groups of 4 are satin stitched green leaves and some of the groups have a yellow flower embroidered in the center. I have laundered this piece by hand, it was and is fresh smelling and clean.
There are six butterflies whose calico is torn, one group of butterflies has small light stains, there is a mark on the binding that looks like a dye bleed from a pink or white fabric, all damage is not noticeable, you have to look for it. Everything is shown in the photos.
The quilting pattern looks like a giant butterfly, check out the photos of the all white backing. I have never seen anything like that, pretty cool.
