Recent Northern Virginia estate find.  Offering a beautiful and somewhat scarce, early 1900's, Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) fraternity sweetheart gift, chatelaine style dance purse.  This sterling marked purse was created by Watrous Manufacturing Co., most likely in the 1920's to 1930's.  All clasps and springs function perfectly with the original chain handle and monogramed "MMA" and the PIKE Fraternity emblem on the outside.  The inside money clip area looks to be gold washed and the coin receptacles fit nickel and dime sized coins.  Excellent overall condition with extremely light wear.  We did not clean this piece; some light tarnish, but should easily polish.  Please see all photographs for dimensions, condition and design.  Click on each for a larger, expanded view.  Photos do contain measurements.  Weighs approximately 105 grams, but not sure what weight is actually sterling as there may be non sterling components.
